I don't think any of this has been said publicly, so to end the hallway whispers, I'll put it up.

Jay will be fine.  He's to be returned to us, probably with a caffeine addiction, as soon as possible, but is very stable at the moment and recovering accordingly.

If you can figure out the time zones for Scotland, you could probably even give him a call.  So long as you didn't figure out the time zones for Scotland just to call at four in the morning.

First, that's just mean and second, Moira won't have gone to sleep yet anyway.

I'm not very good at these, so try to be patient with me.

On Friday, there was an incident during the afternoon soccer game between Kevin and Jono. It seems that Kevin was outside weeding in the hedges, when Jono somehow managed to go over said hedges and into Kevin. A reaction between their two mutations occured.

Kevin suffered some minor injuries, however, Jono is currently unable to keep a solid, stable physical form.

Currently, we are working with Jono to give him some kind of stable form so that we can safely transport him to Muir for better assistance and research. Kevin has also kindly said yes to joining us in Muir so that we can fully diagnose and treat Jono.

I will also be joining Jono and Kevin. Moira and I will be working opposite days with one overlap in Muir, and my X-Men work will be by special, necessary assignment only.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

I'm warning you all now that this post is not going to be entirely coherent. Just try to bear with me.

There are some solar flares coming up shortly, that makes things hard and so we had to rush and there wasn't much time for signing forms and letting people know and supervision and the medical staff is still sleeping, so be quiet please, but the only thing that matters is he's back.

Jono's back.

Jono's back and he's whole and he's back.

Paige is staying with some friends on the college campus to study this weekend. She has asked me to let folks know she'll check her email. She's already got a ride back after classes Monday, and says she'll be meeting with the folks she's got appointments with.

I, for one, am going to go sleep the sleep of the brilliant.

As Kylun has said, Paige has returned to the school. I know many of you would like to see her very much, but both Charles and I feel that having visitors would be detrimental to her healing process at this time and, even were that not the case, Paige herself is quite adamant that she does not want to see anyone. When this changes I will inform you all, and in the meantime you may speak with me in person about the matter, although there is not a lot I can tell you at this time.
[identity profile] x-kylun.livejournal.com
You should all be aware that Paige has returned home to the mansion. She will be remaining under Dr. Grey's care for some time in isolation, however, and it will be up to the doctor, to the Professor, and most importantly to Paige herself to determine when you will be able to see her.

I realize that this is too little information to be fully satisfying, but I do not presume to have the right to tell the greater part of this tale. I can tell you that Paige was not attacked, and that Dr. Grey and the Professor have both given me their best assurances that she will recover fully from her injuries. When she has done so, I know you will all join me in welcoming her home.

I know there's been a lot of uncertainty and confusion about Paige's abrupt departure. This is of course normal, and none of the staff begrudge you your natural reaction to such a sudden decision by someone you care about.

That being said, we'd urge you to respect her decision and wish her well. As she said in her farewell message, she's decided to investigate opportunities at Harvard and MIT before selecting which college she'll be attending. There were a number of factors at work in her choice to leave the mansion. Based on a conversation with her shortly before her departure, I can say that any conflict with her fellow students played only a minimal role at the most in her decision.

That being said, things got out of hand yesterday. These are problems I'm sure we've addressed before, but apparently we need a refresher. I'll try to be succinct here.

1) Threats, whether made face-to-face or over the journals, are not acceptable under any circumstances. If you find yourself in an untenable position as some of our resident psis did yesterday, go to a staff member first. A solution will be provided, as it was yesterday, that does not involve anyone having to use their powers on anyone else in self-defense.

2) The journals are a place to express yourself freely. That said, if you express yourself too freely in the heat of the moment there's no taking it back. Reactions you may later come to believe were unjustified will be there in black and white for the entire school to read. The journals should not be the first place you turn when you're having difficulties. Make an appointment with Doctor Samson, speak to a staff member, confide in a friend - all three options are more helpful than beginning a text-based public argument.

Thank you to the students who pitched in yesterday in the cause of conflict resolution. The staff appreciates your efforts. To those of you distressed by what I see could be perceived as a failure on the part of the staff to step in appropriately, I can only offer my apologies. We were addressing the situation behind the scenes, but I've had it pointed out to me that we also needed to be seen to address it.

We will be attempting to do better in future.

Hey everyone,

Hopefully Jubes doesn't burn down her room looking for me before you get this (could someone go check on her, please?) but to get straight to the point, I've decided to leave.

While I was in California with Lorna my acceptance letters from both MIT and Harvard arrived in the mail. Originally I sent in the applications as a sort of test to myself, just to see if I could do it, but in the last few weeks, it's become more and more apparent that perhaps I don't belong here quite as much as I thought I did. I was only waiting for some sort of 'sign' if you will to push me in one direction or the other.

And what's a better sign than getting kicked off trainee status, huh?

I haven't decided which school I'd like to attend yet, both have such promising offers, but I'm heading to Cambridge to decide. Both Harvard and MIT have excellent 'tryout' opportunities, if you will, but they also both end in the next couple of days, so I have to leave as soon as possible. As soon as possible just happens to be right this second; I'm a fast packer.

I wish you guys all the best, in spite of everything. And hey! Danielle, you finally got yourself a roomie. Be good to her, she's rather awesome, and just pile up my stuff in a corner or something; I'll be sending for whatever I didn't take in the next couple of days or whenever I get the time.

All my love,

Oh, you know what's coming. Sadly, I will not be donning a sparkly outfit or hotpants or even tapshoes, but if you ask really, really nicely I might break out a top hat or something. Icon is just for you, chickpea ma'am.

The seventh clue is rather odd
It's something coming from abroad
Where to look, I can't say
But somewhere late this very day
Keep an eye out and you'll see
The very last surprise from me
Barring one, since I forget
You haven't figured it all out yet!

12:01 on the dot.

Much love,

PS. Thanks other people. You know who you are.

Did anyone else watch the news? It seems that we’re killers now.

Lowenstein is dead, we knew that, but now he’s dead and it’s our fault. There is footage of him tied to a chair with the Friends of Humanity doing some strange dance around him when our team breaks it. It really doesn’t look good. There is a lot of screaming, a lot of obvious mutant powers being used and there’s the shot of him dead with, conveniently, a shot of…

I really don’t know how to type this subtly, so I’ll be blunt and hope you understand. They’re making it look like a member of the team killed him. Which doesn’t make sense with the mutation that was used, but that’s what they’re doing.

Not only that, but Bendis, the reporter, is claiming that we killed him because he was a “weak mutant” and didn’t “meet our standards”. It seems that he’s claiming that if we’d do this to one of our own kind, there is nothing stopping us from killing humans outright.

There’s a little more, but I’d like to discuss it with you first, Scott, sir. I don’t feel right about what I’ve said already. I’m sorry I had to be the bearer of this news, especially now of all times, but I felt it needed to be brought to our attention; that you all had a right to know.

Dear Jono,

It's so good to hear from you. Glad you're alright; everything is fine here as well. Well, minus a couple of death threats but that's never been unusual here, has it?

Try not to overwork yourself. I'd like you all in one piece when you get back. Or at least, in no more than three large pieces. I'm really proud that you're learning so much, though. Proud is not quite the right word and it sounds cheesy, but it's the only respectable one I can think of right now.

I was right, I do miss you.

PS. Your birthday is soon, isn't it?

Dear Alison,

You are a dead woman. Very dead. Possibly with much gore and stabbing with your own highheeled shoes. Dead dead dead.

I would have made this a private e-mail but I thought it would be best if everyone could start planning for your funeral.

And think, it's perfect timing! We have all those black balloons and streamers left over from Halloween.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I must start hunting you down.

Postscript: My feet hurt. This is unrelated but really related all at the same time.
