For...my own reasons, I've been largely unavailable since my recent return, except for classes and related queries.

Events of the past week have made me feel a need to retreat, hold myself aloof, for reasons which I'll hope you accept without my discussing them. But believe me, I'm neither unaware nor unsympathetic. And I can't continue in my splendid isolation, although I thank you all for not harassing or questioning me. Your consideration is more appreciated than any of you could know.

So, I'm descending from my ivory tower.

And, to celebrate this momentous occasion, I'd really appreciate some ice cream. What have we got?

I need to ask? I'm unforgivably out of touch!

I think there may be some vanilla-with-brownie-bits-in left, but don't quote me on that. It was really quite good, so I wouldn't be surprised if what was left got smuggled off with someone after the party. Failing that, there should be some mint chocolate chip in the freezer - put it there this afternoon. Help yourself.
