New resident

Hi, everyone. I wanted to let you know we have a new resident named Kevin. He's never used anything like the journal system or texting before, so while he may be on here eventually it probably won't be for a while.

Kevin is staying here as an alternative to a difficult home life. He doesn't have much experience with people, much less a communal living situation, so please be patient with him. He'll be with me until we figure out a more permanent arrangement.

Good day to you, sir. I see your message and although I am unfortunately in the same situation as the aforementioned Kevin, I recognize how difficult it is to transition to a new environment. Although I cannot offer more than sitting awkwardly with your young ward, I offer those services if you would like.

I truly hope someone more qualified than I responds.

Thanks, I'll check that in a bit. I already reached out regarding the physical paperwork, but if I understand correctly that's mostly the "existing in the eyes of the government" angle. Anything more extensive would probably be easiest done through Snow Valley. At the very least he'll need to see Artie for some ID.

Artie is an excellent choice for ID. I can assist on the digital end of that, unless you would rather the work be done by one of my actually-present coworkers.

Thanks, I appreciate it. We'll see where we stand after the initial appointment and go from there, I guess -- this sort of thing is beyond my area of expertise, so I'll trust the professionals to decide what's best.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure there's a comparable case.

I can say he hasn't had any formal schooling. I may touch base with you for some advice on addressing educational needs.

Maybe on a personal level at some point. There are a few people I need to put him in contact with first, but it'd be good to do some controlled introductions.

Not intentionally, I just want Kevin to have the opportunity to share what he wants to share rather than speak for him on a publicly accessible forum.

I wouldn't call the actual circumstances of his arrival a secret, just . . . involved.
