Hey!

This thing ate my post! Grr.

Not like it wasn't only two lines long, but STILL!

So, Hank... what happens to a post that doesn't post? Is it like a ghost post? Or does it remain caught between post and not-post indefinitely until someone opens up the database to look inside?

What really happens is that I feed them to the fnord beneath my bed.

You do not see the fnord.

I do not fnord see the fnord fnord.

W00T!

Or rather... R00t!

Really, Henry, and at your age too.

[identity profile] x-beast.livejournal.com 2003-05-21 02:20 pm (UTC)(link)
The older I get, it seems, the easier it is to see those things that are not there. Such as that lovely head of hair of yours....

[identity profile] x-avier.livejournal.com 2003-05-21 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, really, Henry, I wouldn't have thought you to be a connoisseur of coiffure. The current look is purely to facilitate usage of Cerebro. I know I have an earlier picture from the time when Erik and I were constructing it...ah, yes (http://www.anselm.edu/internet/classics/I,CLAUDIUS/Personae/patcla3.jpg), one from a toga party Erik threw one weekend. Those were certainly the days.

So, which of you was Laurence Olivier and which was Tony Curtis? He has more the Olivier jaw, I must confess.

[identity profile] x-avier.livejournal.com 2003-05-21 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, he was Olivier, but only because of a previous Othello-themed party -- we had intended to go as the Moor and his wife as portrayed by Olivier and (now Dame) Maggie Smith, and he (having the more burly physique) was to be Oliver's Othello. It turned out, however, that Erik was quite allergic to stage-blacking, and I had to step into the role of the husband. Despite his truly excellent Maggie Smith impression, he was nevertheless most envious and insisted on being Olivier at the toga party.

I suspect that Marie is currently attempting to bleach her retinas at this point.

If I concede defeat right here and now, will you promise not to show me any more pictures?

Just be thankful you didn't know him in his Seventies phase (http://www.mckellen.com/images/3024.jpg)...

[identity profile] x-avier.livejournal.com 2003-05-22 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed (http://www.mckellen.com/images/0494m.jpg).

Flattery will get you nowhere, Marie.

Nevertheless, it is a useful life skill and one that should be encouraged. Carry on.
