For those interested in Tai Chi

I've found a school wiling to accept a new class, although it'll depend on how many of us go in terms of how many classes a week they'll offer us. Miles and I will be attending regularly and I know some of you wanted to join as well. If you're still interested, please comment so that I can do a final headcount before calling up the school with an official number. (Jubilee - for when you wake up, I'm already counting you in on this.)

Note: there'll be practice in the morning two to three times a week here at the mansion to accompany the classes.

I suppose...

that after all the fuss that got kicked up I should go and check this whole thing out.

I'm in, schedule permitting.

Salaam,
Haroun

If I can fit it in, I'll be there.

I won't even snort when they ask me to find my center.

[identity profile] x-foliate.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
It would have to be, especially with me, but I'm afraid the statement still stands.

Overachiever? What? No!

That's the rumor.

[identity profile] x-foliate.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 09:41 am (UTC)(link)
I'll make you a list. On blue paper maybe! Otherwise we're going to have a page long comment of me rambling things like, "And on Thursday I have an hour slot between seventhirty and eightthirty if I get the car, but if not I could probably do something after six but before seven-fortyfive..." and no one needs that.

Aw. We should make Christmas cards together or something.

Yes. You know how those are. Generally untrue but better for the masses.

[identity profile] x-foliate.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
Eee! Color code! (I won't tell anyone.)

I'm not very creative, but I'm quite anal. Would that help? I have no clue.

That's why I was talking about here masses! Wait, that's no better.

[identity profile] x-foliate.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 09:57 am (UTC)(link)
Do so!

...no color coding? But... butbut...

A point that needed three exclamation points. That is one big point indeed.

[identity profile] x-foliate.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 10:04 am (UTC)(link)
:D = feeling special face for today, everyone. In case you missed it.

Well, I suppose that's okay then. And white can stand for snow which can stand for Christmas card making time in my dayplanner. Or something.

The Massive Point That Ate New York. (I forget.)

[identity profile] x-foliate.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 10:14 am (UTC)(link)
Yes.

White is the color of my dayplanner! Fill in the rest.

I have no idea. I hear Moth Men sometimes take a shot at, though.

Sounds interesting to me. Mind if I tag along? :)

[identity profile] x-tarot.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 10:04 am (UTC)(link)
Is this the same as the aikido, or ...

Nevermind. Simply count me in. I will -make- time.

Re: ...

[identity profile] x-tarot.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
Merci.

Should.. is there anything I should know about this before I start, or .. I have ...

Why am I having so many problems with English today?

This is not going to be like Sif taught, yes?

Re: ...

[identity profile] x-sanfuaiyaa.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 01:22 pm (UTC)(link)
No. Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art that is perfectly suitable for "New Age" types who wish to look pretty. Aikido is Japanese and can be used to, you know, actually fight.

Re: ...

[identity profile] x-foliate.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 01:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Cranky boots.

Besides. Am I anything even remotely like New Age? Or pretty? Exactly.

So, by all means, find me a good Aikido place that can work around my schedule and I'll be more than willing to compare and contrast the two.

Re: ...

[identity profile] x-sanfuaiyaa.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure Angelo and Jono would beg to differ. Or they would if they wanted to avoid you turning your skin into something heavy and sitting on them.

I do not know any good schools of aikido around here, so I'm afraid I can't help you out. My own knowledge of it is limited, so I am certainly nowhere qualified to teach. But doesn't Doug take lessons? Or am I making that up?

Re: ...

[identity profile] x-foliate.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I would never. I would husk into something heavy and then punch them in the face. Sitting on is for girls worried about breaking a nail.

I have not a clue about Doug, actually. I'll be sure to ask. If you do hear anything about a good school, let know?

[identity profile] x-skin.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
You know what I think about that. The pretty part, anyway. Don't know about New Age.

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 11:12 am (UTC)(link)
Woot. I'm in. And I, ha ha, need no obsessively color-coded day-planner, because I always have time.

...

[identity profile] x-tarot.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 11:32 am (UTC)(link)
Do you suppose that you could possibly find time to drag a certain roommate of yours to this as well?

I am curious about if he would be good at it or not, after how quickly he picked up other things.

Re: ...

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 11:40 am (UTC)(link)
See above re "always have time." And the advantage of superior numbers.

(And by "other things" I'm going to assume you meant that whatsit redirected-motion-throwing-people-around martial art he's already studying. If you meant other other things please leave me to my ignorance. :))

Re: ...

[identity profile] x-tarot.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 12:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I did. Doug tangos well.

Re: ...

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 12:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I said, gotcha. And I'm sure he does.

[identity profile] x-bamf.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 11:33 am (UTC)(link)
I would be interested, Alison.

[identity profile] x-kitten.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm in, of course.

Thank goodness for flexible schedules...

[identity profile] x-madelyn.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll make the attempt - depends if this goes the way of all my extra-curricular activites. It seems like every time I get involved in a new thing, I'm just getting into it when there's a crisis and I have to drop it. Hence the number of half-read books next to my bed. But I need something that's a) relaxing and good for stress, b) involves actual physical movement and c) gets me out of the school on occasion.

Oh, and Shiro? Speed up tai chi and you have some quite devastating moves. Ever hear of wu shu? Same thing, only faster.

Re: Thank goodness for flexible schedules...

[identity profile] x-madelyn.livejournal.com 2004-10-18 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
*ooos at the waffles, goes wherever they lead*

Is Hank even back yet? I may have missed him in all the excitement of the last week. But yes, please, take me away from all this, at least once a week. There are limits to the emergencies we humble medicos can deal with, and I'm rapidly reaching mine.

When you dumped him on his ass, you mean? *looks innocent* Sorry for letting the feline out of the carrying device...

Re: Thank goodness for flexible schedules...

[identity profile] x-mactaggart.livejournal.com 2004-10-19 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure if he is. That's...rather sad, we need to find out where he is. But even if he isn't back yet...you, go, have fun. I can hold the fort down once a week, more if need be.

And if something does spring up, well, we have the means to retrive you rather quickly.

Plus to having a teleporter medical assistant, no?

Re: Thank goodness for flexible schedules...

[identity profile] x-madelyn.livejournal.com 2004-10-19 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely. See? There was method in my madness. *grins* As for Hank... we may have lost him to the nice shiny lab facilities elsewhere.
