Those of you who wish to visit Lorna in the medlab may do so, although the visits will be limited to looking at her through a window; her condition requires that I keep her environment as sterile as possible, to reduce the risk of infection. I will warn you that she is bandaged quite heavily and does not at all look her usual radiant self. Individuals or small groups, and short visits, are much to be preferred, as she is still in a very delicate state.

The people hovering near Lorna's room, that you will most likely not recognize, are Paul and Janice Dane, Lorna's parents. I'm sure they would appreciate your good wishes.

Are her parents open to visitors coming to see Lorna?

Or is there a time when her parents aren't there so a certain person can come visit, one who I don't think they really want to meet at this point?

I haven't actually asked them about their preferences regarding visitors, Betsy; I suspect that Lorna would appreciate the thought, and my first duty is to her. Moreover, if they transfer her back to California as they currently plan to do, it may be some time before she returns.

I am also, I admit, disinclined to accommodate Paul Dane any more than is absolutely necessary following his tirade about my qualifications. Petty of me, certainly, considering that the man is distraught, but there you are; I hope he will calm down if he sees how widely his worry is shared.

Alex . . . I'm sorry, but I believe they intend not to take their eyes off Lorna until she awakes or is ready to be moved. Should they both fall asleep, or any other opportunity presents itself, I will find you immediately, I promise.
