No, it's not for presents. It's come to my attention since I came to this house that a number of things have gone a while without proper attention. Namely, that some of the residents here have assumed that this is a dormitory like you'd find at one of the state colleges, or worse yet, that it's your clubhouse to do with as you will.

So Mister Marko is setting down a few ground rules. Number one, you break it, you're going to learn how to fix it. Next time someone decides to play mutant football in the sitting room, or have target practice with their plasma farts in front of the solarium - that someone is going to find themselves learning the ins and outs of Marko's School of Construction and Restoration.

Two - the storm windows are there for a reason. Heavy winds, big snowfall - some of you may recognize these as symptoms of the season known as winter. Now, some of you may feel stifled or caged in by not being able to hop in and out of your windows like Rapunzel in her tower. If that's the case - learn to deal with it.

Three - if you need a new light bulb for your room, they're in the supply closet in the South Wing hall, next to the towels. If your rooms use fluorescent bulbs (this means most of you on the second floor) - see me if you need them changed. Same goes for problems with the heating, air conditioning, plumbing, or anything you find wrong with your rooms. If your problem is with your roommates - take it up with the teachers.

Four - Those of you who have driving privileges: LEARN TO PARK. That means not driving partway onto the front lawn if someone's blocking the garage door. I just put down the winter sod, so I'm going to ask nicely that no one trample it for a few days.

Five - If any of you have any problems understanding these rules, come and find me personally.

Now, for those of you have special needs for your rooms, (whoever the lead-lined sheets belong to, quit washing them in the regular washer. It tears up the filter.) leave me a note and I'll make sure everything's up to spec.

I'm not asking for you guys to wax the floors or scrub the toilets here - just to treat the place with some respect.
