As Kylun has said, Paige has returned to the school. I know many of you would like to see her very much, but both Charles and I feel that having visitors would be detrimental to her healing process at this time and, even were that not the case, Paige herself is quite adamant that she does not want to see anyone. When this changes I will inform you all, and in the meantime you may speak with me in person about the matter, although there is not a lot I can tell you at this time.

You should all be aware that Paige has returned home to the mansion. She will be remaining under Dr. Grey's care for some time in isolation, however, and it will be up to the doctor, to the Professor, and most importantly to Paige herself to determine when you will be able to see her.

I realize that this is too little information to be fully satisfying, but I do not presume to have the right to tell the greater part of this tale. I can tell you that Paige was not attacked, and that Dr. Grey and the Professor have both given me their best assurances that she will recover fully from her injuries. When she has done so, I know you will all join me in welcoming her home.

I know there's been a lot of uncertainty and confusion about Paige's abrupt departure. This is of course normal, and none of the staff begrudge you your natural reaction to such a sudden decision by someone you care about.

That being said, we'd urge you to respect her decision and wish her well. As she said in her farewell message, she's decided to investigate opportunities at Harvard and MIT before selecting which college she'll be attending. There were a number of factors at work in her choice to leave the mansion. Based on a conversation with her shortly before her departure, I can say that any conflict with her fellow students played only a minimal role at the most in her decision.

That being said, things got out of hand yesterday. These are problems I'm sure we've addressed before, but apparently we need a refresher. I'll try to be succinct here.

1) Threats, whether made face-to-face or over the journals, are not acceptable under any circumstances. If you find yourself in an untenable position as some of our resident psis did yesterday, go to a staff member first. A solution will be provided, as it was yesterday, that does not involve anyone having to use their powers on anyone else in self-defense.

2) The journals are a place to express yourself freely. That said, if you express yourself too freely in the heat of the moment there's no taking it back. Reactions you may later come to believe were unjustified will be there in black and white for the entire school to read. The journals should not be the first place you turn when you're having difficulties. Make an appointment with Doctor Samson, speak to a staff member, confide in a friend - all three options are more helpful than beginning a text-based public argument.

Thank you to the students who pitched in yesterday in the cause of conflict resolution. The staff appreciates your efforts. To those of you distressed by what I see could be perceived as a failure on the part of the staff to step in appropriately, I can only offer my apologies. We were addressing the situation behind the scenes, but I've had it pointed out to me that we also needed to be seen to address it.

We will be attempting to do better in future.

Hey everyone,

Hopefully Jubes doesn't burn down her room looking for me before you get this (could someone go check on her, please?) but to get straight to the point, I've decided to leave.

While I was in California with Lorna my acceptance letters from both MIT and Harvard arrived in the mail. Originally I sent in the applications as a sort of test to myself, just to see if I could do it, but in the last few weeks, it's become more and more apparent that perhaps I don't belong here quite as much as I thought I did. I was only waiting for some sort of 'sign' if you will to push me in one direction or the other.

And what's a better sign than getting kicked off trainee status, huh?

I haven't decided which school I'd like to attend yet, both have such promising offers, but I'm heading to Cambridge to decide. Both Harvard and MIT have excellent 'tryout' opportunities, if you will, but they also both end in the next couple of days, so I have to leave as soon as possible. As soon as possible just happens to be right this second; I'm a fast packer.

I wish you guys all the best, in spite of everything. And hey! Danielle, you finally got yourself a roomie. Be good to her, she's rather awesome, and just pile up my stuff in a corner or something; I'll be sending for whatever I didn't take in the next couple of days or whenever I get the time.

All my love,
Paige
