I had hopes I could return for the school year and have everything just like it was but Jay's recent change is quite the event and this time I ought to be with him, not at the school. There's no family here for him without me. That being the case, I will miss the school and everyone very much. I appreciate the patience, kindness, and friendship from the students and staff at Xavier's as much as from a Guthrie. I hope to be able to return sometime soon and hope ya'll will have me. I also figure I'll spend a lot more time at the computer keeping in touch.

So people are aware, Jay had an incident earlier tonight. To those of you who may have seen what happened, or are simply worried about him, I do want to assure you that we are helping Jay to the best of our ability and, though it may not seem like it from an outside perspective, tonight actually was a bit of a breakthrough for us. We are now looking into moving Jay out of the medlab and back upstairs, so if you have questions you can discuss them with him (although I would ask you to please not make such discussions at all confrontational) and you can, of course, always discuss any concerns you have with myself or Dr. Voght.

I don't think any of this has been said publicly, so to end the hallway whispers, I'll put it up.

Jay will be fine.  He's to be returned to us, probably with a caffeine addiction, as soon as possible, but is very stable at the moment and recovering accordingly.

If you can figure out the time zones for Scotland, you could probably even give him a call.  So long as you didn't figure out the time zones for Scotland just to call at four in the morning.

First, that's just mean and second, Moira won't have gone to sleep yet anyway.

So people know, Jay has become very sick with something his healing factor seems to be unable to fight off. Obviously, this is a major concern and he's moving down to the medlab and will be staying there under quarantine until we can figure out what's wrong. Yes, quarantine, which means no, you can't sit with him; either this is something so virulent his healing factor can't beat it or it's actively suppressing his mutation and either way we will not allow the rest of you to expose yourselves any further than you may already have, and he needs to be under complete supervision. If his symptoms worsen we are also considering that he may need to be moved to the Muir facility so Moira and Hank can better treat the failure of his mutation, but for now he'll be downstairs. If any of you begin to feel weak, nauseated or feverish you need to report to the medlab immediately.

I'm actually about to get on a plane here, but if any of you have questions please speak with Amelia.

Is it just me or is everyone too quiet?

We're going to need people in general to keep clear of the infirmary unless you actually have need of medical attention; things are a little busy down there right now, and I'm not sure how long that's going to be the case.

To let you all know what's going on, Forge, Jay, and Kyle were dropped back off here at the mansion a short time ago. They weren't able to tell us much, but they've clearly been attacked - not physically assaulted, but attacked with what had to be someone's mutant power. It's led to some physical alterations that are going to require medical attention and lots of it, until we figure out what precisely happened and what to do about it.

We'll keep you updated as we can. Ororo and I will be available in the morning if anyone needs to talk to us personally about this.
