Garrison has been unexpectedly called back to Canada for official duties. I'm not sure when he'll be back.
Fun fact about Wales! We're a Celtic nation, but our culture is actually Brythonic, not Gaelic. So, we don’t celebrate Samhain like some other Celtic places, but we’ve got our own thing!
October 31st was traditionally called Nos Galan Gaeaf, which basically means ‘the eve of winter.’ It’s this old-timey way of saying, ‘Brace yourselves, winter is coming.’ And then, from November 1st onwards, we celebrate Calan Gaeaf, which marks the first official day of winter. So, it’s kind of like our own spooky season, just with a Welsh twist!
In my village growing up, we had this tradition on the night of Nos Galan Gaeaf. We'd walk around the graveyard three times. According to local lore, doing this would let you see spirits wandering the place. As kids, we’d dare each other to do it, and I never saw anything, but there was always that exciting bit of 'what if?'
