To anyone who might have heard some strange noises from the laboratories just now, there is nothing to worry about. A few people accidentally caused a situation down there, but it is well in hand now and has been dealt with. There is no lasting damage to the mansion, I just ask that everyone stays away from the laboratories until the clean up operation has been completed.

Just a heads up to everyone. Alexander Lexington has been called away from the mansion on personal business. Alternate arrangements will be made for his classes.

The Professor has asked me to inform everyone that the mansion will be hosting a female student by the name of Rachel for the foreseeable future. She has been granted access to the journal system for the duration of her stay with us. I would ask you all to please make her feel as welcome as possible while she is with us.

If anyone has any questions feel free to ask me and I will be happy to answer

Yesterday Matt took a trip into the city without asking permission or even informing any members of staff where he was going.

After a meeting with Matt, Professor Xavier has decided to restrict him to the the mansion for the entirety of the summer.

While we do not want to be overly restrictive, and understand the need for students to get away from the mansion we expect the to display good sense while doing so. This means you do not just disappear but inform a member of staff and check in with us regularly while you are off the mansion grounds.

Thank You for your time

~Scott Summers.

I will be holding the preliminary meeting for the model solar car challenge tomorrow at 3pm in my office.

Please make sure to attend if you are able, or contact me later for details.

After conferring with Professor Xavier we have decided the Students Group Project for this year will be the construction of a Model Solar Powered Car for entry in a competition against other schools.

Details and guidelines for the project can be found on the doors of both my office and the garage. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

I would like to emphasize that this is an entirely voluntary project. While we can not compel anyone to join I would like to recommend that everyone interested to get involved. Please contact me to register your interest. I will schedule a group meeting to discuss the regulations and any plans for the building once I know who is interested in the project.

Hello, everyone.

Due to a number of circumstances, we have seen several departures from the school. In order to ensure full communication, I have decided to announce the details of those departures for you all.

As he announced, Nathan Dayspring has moved to New York proper, in order to run the new Elpis headquarters that has been set up there. The boathouse, at this time, is vacant. He will be available for consultation on matters within Elpis' ambit, so he will be seen around the Institute on occasion.

Jean-Paul Beaubier, Jeanne-Marie Beaubier and Shiro Yoshida have gone to Muir Island for powers training and personal assistance. Danielle Moonstar has also sought help with her powers, on Attilan, where she hopes to complete her college education.

Noriko Kikuchi has returned home to Japan, to reconnect with her parents and to complete her final year of high school. Johnny Gallo has returned home to assist in his father's recovery, and Victor Borkowski has gone home to help care for his ill mother. Sarah Vale has also returned home to her family.

Scott Summers and Dr. Jean Grey are currently on vacation, however they will not be returning to the school. In order to expand the West Coast Annex to more than a training facility, I have asked them to relocate there. With the aftermath of Day Zero and the San Diego earthquake, it is less and less safe for mutants in this country, and it is apparent that the current team is under considerable strain. To this end, I am establishing a second team at the Annex, to be created by Scott and Jean.

In order to cover those classes previously taught by those who have left, a number of the existing teachers have stepped up to take those on. I hope the students will cooperate with them and make this transition run smoothly.

I thank you for your patience during this difficult time and I wish the best to all those who have moved on. If you have any questions, my door is, of course, always open.

The infirmary is likely to be a little crowded for the next few days. Without getting into too many complicated details, we're playing host to... well, six babies who need to stay here for some more tests before they're transported to Muir Island. We're in the process of setting up a makeshift nursery. I guess, just don't be too surprised if you have to head down to the infirmary for any reason?

The Blackbird went out yesterday and retrieved Nathan and Jean-Paul. They were attacked in Moldova while they were traveling, which is why they dropped out of contact. Apologies for not being specific about our concerns, but we really weren't sure what was going on until yesterday. It took Charles some time to pinpoint a location.

They're both in rough shape, and Jean-Paul's going to be spending some time in the infirmary. Please, no visitors for now.

There was an accident at one of the RedX sites today; Jane was hurt, and wound up being taken to the hospital. She's going to be okay, but she won't be home for a day or two. If anyone needs or want to know the details of where she is, for visits or the like, just let me know.

Noriko Kikuchi somehow wound up in New York tonight, where her phone went dead and triggered the alarm here. We've gone out looking for her; we need all students to stay on Institute grounds until we've gotten her home safely and figured out what happened. If anyone sees this and has any information relating to her whereabouts - if she spoke to any of you before leaving - let the Professor know.

All right.

I know the news from New York is not so good, but we need everyone to stay calm. We don't have any reason to think what's happening in the city is going to spread beyond it, but we are keeping an eye on the news.

We're also doing our best to get in touch with the field trip; as soon as we know anything, we'll share it. Although if anyone happens to know where Karolina might have gone, we'd appreciate you sharing it.

Some of you might have noticed there's been something going on, between the people rushing around, the helicopter on the lawn, and the Blackbird going out and not coming back. We sent a small team out on what we thought was a simple trip to pick up a new student. It turned out to be a trap. Part of springing it involved crashing the Blackbird.

We've retrieved the people who were missing after the crash - who, incidentally, did a damned fine job of getting themselves at least mostly out of the mess they landed in. Forge is in hospital in the city for the time being, but we're hoping to get good news on his condition soon.

The Blackbird's a write-off. Expect to see what's left of it arriving home in a truck sometime soon.

I'm not going to add the usual comment about how you should feel to come talk to me if you have concerns, or want more details. I'm not the headmaster around here any longer, after all. You were all due the explanation of why the X-Men have been running around in circles for the last forty-eight hours, so that's what this is. I think we can all just be very glad this ended with a totaled jet and one person in the hospital. It could have been a lot worse.

Good news.

Everyone is back safe and relatively sound. The immediate threat has been dealt with, so you can consider the lockdown over. I don't feel it's appropriate to go into details about what happened in a public forum, but if anyone feels they need to know, they can come and speak to myself, Ororo, or the Professor. There is more that can be shared, it would just look... very odd, put down in black and white.

We appreciate your cooperation this weekend, as always.

Things appear to be returning to normal. The psis have woken up and seem to be mostly in their right minds, if fairly shaken up. If everyone could be sure to give them some space unless they indicate otherwise, it would probably be appreciated. Cain has moved of his own accord and gone back to his suite, apparently to sleep - we'll have to see how he is when he wakes up again, although we'll be keeping an eye out.

I wish I could offer an explanation as for what's been going on, but it's been very complicated, is still not entirely clear, and I don't actually think that most of you would be up for explanations of astral plane theory anyway. Although if you're really interested, I'm sure Charles would be willing to discuss it with you - later.

Suffice to say, it appears to be over, and I think we can all be very grateful for that. Now if you'll all excuse me, I'm going to go check and make sure that my wife still remembers that she's not eleven.
[identity profile] x-cyclops.livejournal.com
Apologies for not making any kind of announcement before now, but we've been trying to figure out what's happening (and not having much luck). I can tell you now that you can all go about your day; getting you all into the shelters was mostly precautionary at the time, although I'm glad we did.

I can't tell you a lot about what happened, mostly because we don't really know what's going on. There is something wrong with Mr. Marko, something that needed telepathic help to fix, but something happened to the group of telepaths who tried. It either knocked them out or sent them into a state of shock - that's the reason for some of the damage you see in the halls this morning. They're all in the infirmary right now, so I'd ask you all to avoid going down there unless absolutely necessary, since crowding stressed psis is generally a bad thing, and Doctor MacTaggart is busy running some tests. Let Doctor Voght know if you need any medical attention of the non-urgent sort. If need be we have plenty of people qualified in basic first aid.

Oh, and please stay out of the hall that's roped off. We haven't quite gotten around to cleaning up the mess.

Everyone get down to the shelters right now.

Jean-Phillipe Colbert will be staying with us for the time being - yes, he is Marie-Ange's cousin. Because of the nature of his power, it's going to take us a little time to get him properly set up on the journals and so forth. Greetings will have to be of the traditional variety for the time being, although I'd urge you all to make sure you respect his personal space. (Powers issues, as I said.)
[identity profile] x-cyclops.livejournal.com
A number of your teachers wanted to say this, but since we're running a little short on time I told them I'd say it for all of us: we're very proud of you. Not just proud of the way you've been handling the evacuation (and we have surfaced from what we've been doing for long enough to check up on that), but proud of the people you're becoming. If the team ever needs a reason to keep going, keep doing what we're doing, all we need to do is look at you.

A few years ago I would have given anything to find a way to resign from the school and still be able to look at myself in the mirror in the mornings. Right now, I can honestly say that I wouldn't trade my job as your teacher for anything in the world.

Take care, all of you. We'll see you in a few days.

We've had a new arrival from Japan this week - Noriko Kikuchi. Unfortunately, she needs to spend some time in the infirmary this week, but the doctors have let the staff know that visitors are all right, assuming everyone remembers to use their inside voices.

Noriko is going to need some help with her English, and as my wife's pointed out, getting to know her peers is only going to help with that. So do consider stopping by and introducing yourself.
