Hello, everyone;

As I mentioned last month, graduation was postponed due to external events. However, now things have settled down, I would like to announce that there will be a graduation ceremony for those who completed high school at Xavier's at the end of the academic year, on Friday, August 3, 2012. The graduation ceremony will take place on the grounds at 5:00 p.m., to be followed at 7:00 p.m. by a graduation dance/celebration. Miss Pryor has volunteered her services to be head of the dance committee, and I believe she has some very interesting ideas.

Invitations have been sent to those of you with family who would like to attend, and those with travelling difficulties have been requested to contact me to make arrangements.

I would like to see all of you - students and staff, past and present - in attendance. It is a result of all of you that we can have this celebration at all.

I'll take it from here, Prof X.

As the professor said, I have totally volunteered my services as the dance committee. The theme of this year's Prom is "V for Victory" in the vein of post-WWII ticker tape parades. It will be a 1940s inspired extravaganza. Dress code is 1940s chic, obviously, and I'm not limiting it to American/Western 1940s attire, so if anyone wants to come dressed as "Memoirs as a Geisha" you are totally welcome to do that and that is totally cool. But seriously people, I'm completely serious. You have a wide range of looks to choose from and I'm not expecting everyone to go out and buy vintage clothes, you can totally use something modern, as long as it has the feeling of the 1940s. I have a ton of photos if anyone needs a reference point.

I mean, I'll be figuring out all the music and decorations (and before you ask, Yes, there will be ticker tape), and all that to try and make it as awesome as it can possibly be (hint: totally awesome), but I need all y'all need to do your part too. And if anyone wants to help with munchies, decor, music compilation, etc. just let me know.
