This Saturday, we will be having an Early Steven Seagal series, starting with Above the Law, moving onto Hard to Kill, followed by Marked for Death, and concluding with Out for Justice.

Oh, and Shiro...the Independent Film Channel has a Samurai Saturday film series early in the mornings. This week's offering is Sword of Doom, or (a probably badly mangled English lettering), Dai-bosatsu tôge.

I hope no one minds me co-opting this week's movie night, but it's for a good cause.

And if anyone knows of any movies that showcase good defensive martial arts styles, please drop me a note.

And I think there's room for Jackie Chan Adventures and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in between, just to keep the theme going. Sounds like fun.

Boy, Seagal sure likes his three-word movie titles.

Not only three word titles, but three word titles where the second word is a preposition. :)

Well, yeah. He knows sixty-seven different ways to kill a man with a preposition.

I wonder how many Mr. Logan knows. :)

No idea. But Seagal would so play him in the movie.

EW!

Mister Logan does not look like Steven Segal, and I do not think he would play him.

I think that maybe someone .. I don't know, just not that guy.

I dunno, he sort of does. You'd probably have to tape garden forks to the back of Seagal's hands to get the right mental image.

They both have the moves, though, gotta give me that.

Who really cares about titles, anyway. It's the hardcore buttkicking that's important. Let's not lose perspective, here. :)

Whatwhat?

Whatcore? It is buttkicking that is hard like the core of an apple?

I thought that Steven Seagal used defensive martial arts?

Hardcore means very intense.

And yes, he does. I was just being kind of silly.

So it is not hard like an apple core?

And it means intense? Because I have heard one of you use it about a video game thing, I think.

Just to jump on the Preposition series train, I'm voting for Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon. Not a huge Seagal fan myself.

Bruce Lee ga kakkoii desu nee! I second this vote. Anoo, but isn't "the" an article and not a preposition?

Yeah, I think you're right about that.

But I third the Bruce Leeage. There was a guy who knew his buttkicking.

Yes, yes, it is. Now stop pointing out my mistakes and just endorse my good taste.

Dai-bosatsu tooge? Toshiro Mifune is in that, correct? He's an amazing actor. Have you seen Shichinin no samurai? He was my favorite of the group.
