Lowenstein is dead, we knew that, but now he’s dead and it’s our fault. There is footage of him tied to a chair with the Friends of Humanity doing some strange dance around him when our team breaks it. It really doesn’t look good. There is a lot of screaming, a lot of obvious mutant powers being used and there’s the shot of him dead with, conveniently, a shot of…
I really don’t know how to type this subtly, so I’ll be blunt and hope you understand. They’re making it look like a member of the team killed him. Which doesn’t make sense with the mutation that was used, but that’s what they’re doing.
Not only that, but Bendis, the reporter, is claiming that we killed him because he was a “weak mutant” and didn’t “meet our standards”. It seems that he’s claiming that if we’d do this to one of our own kind, there is nothing stopping us from killing humans outright.
There’s a little more, but I’d like to discuss it with you first, Scott, sir. I don’t feel right about what I’ve said already. I’m sorry I had to be the bearer of this news, especially now of all times, but I felt it needed to be brought to our attention; that you all had a right to know.
