All right, you sorry little grabasstic pieces of maggot vomit, Mister Marko is about to give a little pop quiz. Who can tell me how old this house is? I'll make it easy for you: built in 1880, with the East and West wings added in 1922. The state of New York declared it a historic structure back in 1982, if anyone bothers to read the bronze plaque out by the gate.

So when I hear about a leak in the attic, and I go up to see that someone's been tramping around on the roof, it gets me to thinking someone's not paying attention to the nice little talk I gave about off-limits areas. And before you little worms blame it on migrating birds, unless the pigeons have started leaving cigarette butts in the rain gutters, no one's going to be fooled.

I don't give a damn if you spoiled little whiners "need your space" or want somewhere to go pout and cry because you miss your mommies. Most of you wretches are here because you're a danger to society unless you get off your crying little asses and learn some discipline and self-control. The easiest part of that, which most of you get when you're not blowing up the woodline, is to not cause property damage. Some of you can crush rocks without thinking - so START thinking.

It's called respect. You don't have to have it for me, and more than a handful of you sure as hell don't seem to have much for Xavier or the teachers - but you will have respect for this house that you're living in.

Anyone who's got a problem or would like to show off and pretend to be a badass and get mouthy, you can find me.

y'know, here I was thinking you were a nice guy - but then, I guess sometimes I'm not so nice either. But politeness aside, since we both don't seem to care about it much, Rogue is right.

Most of us HAVE no other home, this is the only place we can fuck up. And we're not perfect. I drank. I bragged. I'm grounded. I don't like it, but I did knowingly break the rules and the law so I'm not upset because I'm being punished. But if we can't fuck up here, knowingly or not...where can we? On the streets? Because that's where a lot of us were headed or were living...and y'know, perhaps I'm self-centered, but I think that ALL kids, human and mutant, deserve a home. And that's what this is. Our home.

It's your home too, and you are right to be upset when you see it hurt, but I'm willing to help you fix it - regardless of my punishment. Because it's more that just your home, it's mine too.

Like I said before, those excuses work for normal people. Not folks who can kill other people when they screw up. The next time someone has a little lapse of temper or control, what happens when it's not just massive burns? What happens when someone loses it and blows up in public? With the kids around? Where there's no cover to hide behind?

Yeah - it's fucking scary, isn't it? It's also the reality of living with the kind of power some of you have. It starts with the little things - break one rule, it's okay. Just lose control a little, no one gets hurt. Then those little pebbles start a landslide.

In a perfect world, yeah, you'd have a choice. But it's like having a gun - you're expected to use it safely or there are consequences. Well, you kids don't get the choice - you ARE the gun. And Xavier's opened his home to teach you how to use those powers you've got safely. When you spit on the little things - when you start sowing those seeds of disrespect because you think you're too self-reliant to obey rules that are put there for a reason - you put not only yourself at risk, but the people who WANT to be here and learn how to control themselves.

Maybe no one drilled this into your skulls before - and maybe some of you figured out that's the way things work. But there's how it is. That simple.

discipline, like everything, is fine in moderation. this is not a military school.

and I thought this place would let us have as close to normal lives as we could. we don't WANT to hurt people, we do what we can to prevent this. but that does not mean we don't want to have fun. and y'know what? I remember people choosing NOT to drink the other night because of their powers. that's responsibility. irresponsibility would be to drink anyways.

you can't expect us to be perfect all of the time.

Tell me, kusoyarou, besides being the most idiotic person I have ever met, what is your mutant power? Do you manipulate some form of energy per chance? No, I did not think so. You cannot comment on that type of power and the person who wields it if you are not one yourself. And yet here, you are effectively saying that anyone's momentary loss of control is entirely their fault, that they should be punished for their lapse.

How dare you.

You have no idea what it's like. You have no place to judge any of us. So the next time you wish to chastise a student because their mutation acted chaotically, think for a moment before proving to everyone how ignorant you are.

And you wonder why some of my classmates refuse to follow your rules. When our supposed role models are sokonuke no baka, how are we supposed to act?
