Hope this bloody thing works.. but, I'll talk to her about it. From what I can gather, I seriously doubt a lecture and grounding would do much of any good. Girl's a rebel, used to living on the streets - all that would do is encourage her psychology to act out of turn some more.
I'm not saying let her do this without any kind of reprisal, mind, but I don't think the standard approach would do very well. She's here to learn control, after all. As bizarre as this might be, it's only to be expected.
On a different note, we'll likely want Doctor McCoy to check Jake out once we find him, but I imagine that goes without saying. If the spell's left him unable to shapeshift, it might have some lasting effects, and I know he'd been making progress previous to this.
