Some upkeep considerations
Nov. 22nd, 2004 11:35 amDespite all assumptions and claims to the contrary, I'm not an unreasonable man. Sometimes, I even sort of understand where you kids are coming from when you do your little angsting moments and lashing out against authority stuff.
However.
I've spent the past weekend cleaning up the messes certain folks had made of the boiler room, and the big explosion notwithstanding, there's a few things I'd like to reiterate:
1) If you really feel the need to vandalize and destroy something, let me know and I'll put you to work chopping wood. If you're one of those that can't handle anything sharper than a fluffy stuffed bunny, then there's other things around the place you can do to work out whatever little issues you have going on. The school has a well-stocked gymnasium, and I've seen some of you make good use of it.
2) Corollary to number 1: writing bad poetry in blood on the walls and leaving chunks of bone around isn't sanitary, no matter what your little mutation quirks are. Those of you that shed, molt, drop feathers or skin, or leave trails of whatever all over - the medical staff should have briefed you on basic sanitation procedures. No one here's going and using your pillow as a hankie, do everyone a favor and clean up after your basic biological processes.
3) If you are a big glowing ball of energy, feel free to disregard point #2. Starsmore, I don't know if they've set something up so you can read this, but do you have any idea how fruity you look? I'm just saying. It's an improvement over all the black, though. But if you keep hovering around my head while I'm trying to work, I'm petitioning to have you renamed "Tinkerbell".
4) Flyers - the platform on the west wing roof is still accessible through the main stairwell until 10pm. If you're out flying after that, be advised that the door will be locked automatically at 10pm. See either myself or Mr. Lee if you need the keycode for access.
As usual, drop a note in my box in the main kitchen or find me on grounds if you have any questions or suggestions.

Date: 2004-11-22 12:51 pm (UTC)I'm sorry, cellular biology isn't really one of my strong points, but I'm finding this all so fascinating.

Date: 2004-11-22 12:57 pm (UTC)Trust me, I really don't mind having someone to nerd out on. At all.

Date: 2004-11-22 01:06 pm (UTC)And there's no need to think of it as "nerding out". Just think of it as expressing the amazing gift you've been given to someone who can comprehend the intimate details of it.

Date: 2004-11-22 01:38 pm (UTC)I'm staying away from anything nuclear until I can make sure that no one is in harms way, especially given recent events. I'm not sure even The Box can handle radioactivity. As for nanotubes and buckyballs; carbon is sort of my "thing". I have several, regular metal alloy husks that are my default, but I researched carbon for so long that I still dream it's multiple molecular structures. I just haven't found a good use for fullerene yet. I suppose if I get into surgery?
You and I are going to get along swell.

Date: 2004-11-22 01:41 pm (UTC)Wait, does that mean if you get a sunburn or an annoying pimple that you can just 'husk' right out of it? That's so cool.

Date: 2004-11-22 01:51 pm (UTC)Of course! No one has this perfect of skin at 18 naturally, my dear. According to the hypothesis that homo superior's mutations are directly related to their personality that makes me quite vain, but let's ignore that and go for the fact that I'm intelligent/crazy/take your pick enough to memorize things like molecular structure, shall we? Oh, and have this thing about not dying. Mostly because I'm too busy.

Date: 2004-11-22 02:31 pm (UTC)I can't resist.
Date: 2004-11-22 02:23 pm (UTC)Does that make me a magnetic personality?

Date: 2004-11-22 06:30 pm (UTC)Can you do localized husks? Husk just your hand or something?
You could do a lead husk, then into a nuclear one but leave the lead shell on and provide your own containment, too...

Date: 2004-11-22 06:33 pm (UTC)I'm working on those with Moira right now, actually. We were thinking in the future I might be able to go all T2 with the limbs as weapons thing, but your idea is more fun and less violent.

Date: 2004-11-22 06:39 pm (UTC)Hey, can you do any chemical structure or only any crystaline one? Can you do liquids or, more usefully, plasma?
no subject
Date: 2004-11-22 07:04 pm (UTC)Potentially, any chemical structure, though.

Date: 2004-11-22 07:24 pm (UTC)Theoretically if you were doing it in a room cold enough you ought to be able to do water's cyrstialine structure. I agree, however, that it's not one you want to mess about with without way more experience.
For one thing, how would you remove the a liquid husk from the husk underneath without hands...
Ok, yeah, definitely moving into worrying territory here.
