Communication Class
 - final paper to be turned in before the exam.
 - exam will have an oral portion after the written part. You're allowed notes during the written section of the exam as the questions will require personal thought and judgment, not memorizing.

Dance
 - the format of the final will be formal dancing.
 - main part to be done with your regular partner, one dance to be done with a partner you've not danced with yet to judge adaptability to individual dancing styles.
 - yes, this means formal wear. Arrangements have been made in that regard but feel free to contact me if you want to get creative.

Music
 - Individual examinations, the schedule will be posted on the music room door for each student. If this conflicts with your exam schedule contact me and we'll move things as needed although there shouldn't be any problems.
 - People Covered in Fish - there'll be a band exam which will go towards 40% of your final grade, concert format and including the material you've reviewed this year. If you want to do an extra piece, I am more than open to that.

Spanish
 - Oral & Written exams, each counting towards 50% of the final exam grade. That exam in turn counts for 40% of your final grade.

Yes, but I like doing concerts. And when you're behind the drums, nobody can see what you wear. I could sit back there with no pants on and no one would know. :)

Just trying to keep your day interesting. Wouldn't want you to get bored without plots to plan. :)

I like formal clothing.

I was thinking that since Doug -has- a tuxedo, that traditional formal wear would be appropiate.

So, are you saying that to my partner as well?

No, I'm reminding your partner that I know dire and arcane uses for whoopee cushions. And contemplating taking dance next year so I don't have to use any of 'em. :)

I would be much in favor of this. You can dance, I've seen you.

Well, yeah, you have, you're the only one I've ever danced with.

And hey, it'd be fun, and after the massage seminar it's not like I'm above taking classes for completely selfish reasons. Go collect your Junior Devil Woman Scouts badge from Alison, you've convinced me. :)

formaL?

Formal, as in formal-formal?

Like, a ballgown?

..

Wait.

WAIT.

Doug in a tuxedo? TUXEDO?

I may feel the need to go squeal and giggle.

...

I know I am not formally taking Music until next semester. Should I participate in the exam-concert regardless?

You do?

WHY?

...

Not that I am complaining.
Leather pants. Tuxedo. Do you have any -other- secret wardrobe pieces I should know about?

But. But.

And you did not answer the question about why you --own a tuxedo--

I suppose I should go get a ballgown, since I believe all my formal clothing is either at home or not quite formal -enough-

It was cheaper to buy one than to rent it every year for choir?

And boss, should I get accessories to match Angie's dress, or just go with black tie? Also, vest or cummerbund?

When and where are we doing the concert, boss? And I'm drawing a blank as to what we're doing in terms of setlist. Jamie, want to help me out here? Did we decide on doing anything from my spiffy Matchbox 20 book?

Or Bent. I also like Bent.

all I have is the dress I wore to the christmas formal. or some peices I could cobble together into the most sparkly-plaid rainbow dress ever which would cause Maire-Ange to do hairy kari in the name of "good fashion".

is that okay? (not hairy kari, but wearing the X-Mas dress)

Formal.
Plaid.

.. with your coloring, in -theory-, if we had TIME, we might be able to put something together that is not truly offensive, and still fits both 'formal' and 'plaid'

It might be a little outre, but then, so is purple skin, no?

it's blue and red plaid. with silver in it. I've had it under my bed for a while now, was thinking I'd make it into a skirt if I ever had time or a sewing machine. haven't asked because well...no time.

and I have a purple and black plaid bodice thing from hot topic. together they would make a formal. even if they don't even match by MY standards.

like I said, hairy kari. and everything I wear it "outre" (I had to look that up btw! just say "unconventional" next time) unless I decide to copy Jono in his "black is the new rainbow" fashion. and people wonder why I never match...if I must be purple I should do it in style!

Hari kiri.

And.. if it was all purple and black, we could accomodate.

Perhaps the bodice and black..

OOH!

I have black velvet with tiny silver speckles. It was meant to be for a costume, but I think it is still in my closet. I never used it. The bodice and that as a skirt. The speckles are not -quite- glitter, but they would not clash with the bodice, and they -are- shiny.

I think I've seen that! Yes, it would be pretty.

Tell Clarice it's formal glitter that can't get away from her. ;)

My apoligies. I only had heard the one term.

Do they actually have different meanings, or it is just a level of politeness used?

The mean the same thing, and are in fact spelled the same way. Seppuku is 切腹 and hara kiri is backwards, 腹切. The latter is just a more vile word, like saying "piss" instead of "urinate." Speaking about hara kiri in front of a samurai is a good way to get oneself decapitated.

Formal dress. When we went shopping that one time, and you and Lorna were arguing over whether I should get the white frilly one with the net sleeves and the slit or the short black one with the cape thing and the open front and eventually you just bought me both of them, you said that I would need formal dress some day. You were preparing me! And didn't tell me!

Actually, yours is one of the few finals I'm not TOO worried about. Or should I be worried? You have a reputation for being evil, Alison.
