Communication Class
 - final paper to be turned in before the exam.
 - exam will have an oral portion after the written part. You're allowed notes during the written section of the exam as the questions will require personal thought and judgment, not memorizing.

Dance
 - the format of the final will be formal dancing.
 - main part to be done with your regular partner, one dance to be done with a partner you've not danced with yet to judge adaptability to individual dancing styles.
 - yes, this means formal wear. Arrangements have been made in that regard but feel free to contact me if you want to get creative.

Music
 - Individual examinations, the schedule will be posted on the music room door for each student. If this conflicts with your exam schedule contact me and we'll move things as needed although there shouldn't be any problems.
 - People Covered in Fish - there'll be a band exam which will go towards 40% of your final grade, concert format and including the material you've reviewed this year. If you want to do an extra piece, I am more than open to that.

Spanish
 - Oral & Written exams, each counting towards 50% of the final exam grade. That exam in turn counts for 40% of your final grade.

it's blue and red plaid. with silver in it. I've had it under my bed for a while now, was thinking I'd make it into a skirt if I ever had time or a sewing machine. haven't asked because well...no time.

and I have a purple and black plaid bodice thing from hot topic. together they would make a formal. even if they don't even match by MY standards.

like I said, hairy kari. and everything I wear it "outre" (I had to look that up btw! just say "unconventional" next time) unless I decide to copy Jono in his "black is the new rainbow" fashion. and people wonder why I never match...if I must be purple I should do it in style!

Hari kiri.

And.. if it was all purple and black, we could accomodate.

Perhaps the bodice and black..

OOH!

I have black velvet with tiny silver speckles. It was meant to be for a costume, but I think it is still in my closet. I never used it. The bodice and that as a skirt. The speckles are not -quite- glitter, but they would not clash with the bodice, and they -are- shiny.

I think I've seen that! Yes, it would be pretty.

Tell Clarice it's formal glitter that can't get away from her. ;)

Please call it seppuku. Hara kiri is such a vulgar term.

My apoligies. I only had heard the one term.

Do they actually have different meanings, or it is just a level of politeness used?

The mean the same thing, and are in fact spelled the same way. Seppuku is 切腹 and hara kiri is backwards, 腹切. The latter is just a more vile word, like saying "piss" instead of "urinate." Speaking about hara kiri in front of a samurai is a good way to get oneself decapitated.

So .. why is there a difference?

Is one just reserved to specifically -be- rude?
