The following is solid proof that two people with a lot of money should never be allowed alone together, because plotting happens.

On Saturday, September the 25th, there will be a HeliX event held at Piper House near Lake George, Greenhaven, NY. It's a formal benefit, so if anyone wanted an excuse to go spend money on a nice suit or dress, now's your chance. Parents are more than welcome to come, though they'll need to make their own accomodations - I can lend a hand, if they need it. The event starts at seven PM.

We're looking for volunteers to come out a day early to help set the house up for the party - just drop Paul or myself a note if you're interested in volunteering.

Paul? Did I forget anything?

I said you could think of it that way if it made you feel better.

And the rich people there will have a great deal of interest in all of you. They are not stupid and they are coming to support you and your friends. Having money doesn't necessarily mean being frivolous with it. If it did, Shinobi and I wouldn't be making this into a benefit. The other guests will definitely want to see what kind of young person takes part in HeliX. I will note that a number of them are mutants themselves; I leave it to you to figure out which ones.

You have the opportunity to mingle with your peers and with some very influential and intelligent people. It should be fun and there will be potential for you to do some good work. It is work, at that, even if you are having fun. I have made more progress at parties than in the boardroom in many instances.

I think your classmates and the other members of HeliX do care whether or not you wear a dress, or whether or not you dress up at the least. Maybe they should get to pick out a dress for you?

Why would they have interest in me? I am a cute little country girl who is occasionally proficient in Chemistry. I refuse to be, "endearing" and "amusing", Beaubier.

I mingle with my peers just fine. It doesn't even involve a dress. Usually I bring tea and everyone is happy and warm.

No one is picking out a dress for me! For goodness sake...

(Sarah, stay away. No leather gowns. NO. Sarah...)

I'll save the leather for clubbing. Somehow I just don't think they'd appreciate it as much at a formal thing.

You don't have to be endearing and amusing. You'd sprain something. My goodness, you're defensive.

Of course I'm defensive! There's a dress involved.

Oh, and here's a note. Insulting me? Not going to make me suddenly want to wear the dress. For the future.

Silk!
