Security precautions

These will be in effect for the next week at the absolute most. Hopefully by - or ideally, well before - that point we should have a clearer idea of what exactly happened and what to expect, and be able to get back to what approaches for normal around here.

1) For the time being, no non-essential off-campus travel. This restriction in particular will be lifted as soon as humanly possible, folks, I promise, but I'm afraid I've got to insist on it for the time being.

2) If you do have to go off-campus, you will have a staff escort. None of the teachers will be going off-campus on their own either, so not to worry - this applies to everyone. If you're off-campus, keep your phone handy and don't hesitate to hit your panic button if you feel you need to. A false alarm is not the end of the world.

Apart from that, just keep an eye on the journals and an 'ear' out for any telepathic announcements, just in case. It would be Nathan making them, incidentally, not the Professor, so be aware of that as well. If you 'hear' anything from him, it's coming directly from me so make sure you follow instructions promptly.

That said, I want to make it really clear to all of you that we don't have any evidence that suggests there might be any more trouble. Best-case scenario is that I come back in a day or two and confess to having been overly paranoid, but at this point I think it's better to be safe than sorry. At least for the next little while.

Sir? What about those of us taking off-campus classes? I do not think my professor is going to accept "Magneto attacked." as a good excuse for my not turning in my term paper. I can skip attending my art class, it does not have a attendence requirement so long as I turn in my projects - but the history is a bit stricter.

I can skip Art - it has no attendence reqirement and I'm well ahead on my project. Portraits are easy when you already draw your subject a few times a week.

I talked to Jono about it last night. I said that I didn't think I could stay here any more, and that I was thinking about leaving before the end of the week. Like I said before, I'm still not sure where I'm going, short of "away".

I've got class with Strange at Columbia on Saturday. I'd ask him to come here, only he's a bit leery of the place lately. Said something about having done his part and not wanting to upset anything. *shrugs* Whatever. But yeah, I'll need a babysitter for that one if we're still on the alert thing.
